GOOD FRIDAY “WALK of THE CROSS”

The Dorchester County Ministerial Association is sponsoring the “Walk of the Cross” on Good Friday, April 6, 2007, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., in Cambridge.  The Walk is patterned after the familiar and traditional liturgy for the “Stations of the Cross.”  A brief, ten minute liturgy will be conducted at each of the seven stops along the route, with clergy and laity from various churches participating.

This year’s route will include the following churches:
§         St. Luke’s United Methodist Church,
§         712 Bradley Ave.
§         New Life Christian Church,
§         923 Phillips St.
§         Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins St.
§         Bethel A. M. E. Church, 623 Pine St.
§         Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Race St.
§         Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust St.
§         Christ Episcopal Church 215 High St.

The Walk of the Cross is intended to be an opportunity for spiritual renewal - a meditative, reflective observance, as we walk from stop to stop.  Along the walk route, various persons will have opportunity to carry the cross part of the way.  All seven church locations are accessible, and bus transportation will be available for those needing/desiring it.

“The Passion of Christ”

A full length film produced by Mel Gibson, on the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ will be shown in the Sanctuary on Good Friday, April 6, at 7 P.M.  This will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us to stop and reflect on the suffering Christ suffered for our redemption.  Come and see this film that has changed thousands of lives.
